Meet Simon
DNA are please to
announce that, as of December 2009, Simon Harle, previously Global
Talent Manager at iris, has joined us as Associate Director.
As a youngster he could be found sporting a barber and wellies
traipsing through the fields of the family estate in Durham,
although nowadays this sporting look can be found on the Kings
Road! After leaving school and spending a year in Sydney teaching
Aussies how to play rugby and cricket, he returned to study Rural
Land Management at Cirencester. Knowing that farming at home was
not his immediate profession, he moved to London to break into
marketing.
Simon started his career in 2002 as an account handler at
Catalyst working on various clients in the BTL arena. Here he was
able to work his way quickly up to an Account Manager, working on
Unilever, Muller & Pernod Ricard to name a few. Having
gained hands on experience of marketing and advertising, Simon
changed career path and took the opportunity to add value to
clients and candidates by joining the recruitment world.
It was there that he found a passion for developing relationships
and matching talented people with a variety of agencies; from small
independents to global networks. One of Harle's key clients, iris,
requested he join to build their internal talent team to facilitate
their global expansion. This entailed sourcing highly skilled
marketers, creatives and digital specialists in London, Paris,
Madrid, Amsterdam, Munich, Dusseldorf, Sydney, Singapore and
Beijing.
However after three very successful years at iris which saw the
agency grow from under 200 to over 600 employees, Simon was ready
to take on his next challenge; in December 2009 Harle partnered
with Ali Wallace, founder of independent boutique recruitment
agency DNA. Together, with the support of a small specialist team,
Simon and Ali promise to deliver a professional and entrepreneurial
talent search for the world's leading creative and media
agencies.
Simon loves playing and watching sport - especially rugby and
cricket. Lately he has to admit the rugby boots are more likely to
be hung up after knocking out two teeth in the first game of the
season. Photography is something that is becoming a big part of his
life (easier than getting the oil paints out)! Spending as much
time with friends as possible, whether in the pub or socialising
round the table at home is key to for relaxing and
recuperating.
