DNA Top 10 Interview Tips
Do your homework:
Know everything there is to know about the agency, their clients, the role and the latest market trends. The more prepared you are, the less likely you are to be caught out.
First Impressions:
We all know how important they are. Look the part, you can't go wrong if you're clean, neat and tidy.
Think about your answers:
Take your time to answer difficult questions, think about what you want to say. This is much better than mumbling about something off topic and not really answering the question.
Sell yourself:
It's why you're there. Be sure to highlight the things you do best and back them up with experience to prove your point.
Be relevant:
Talk about why you would be good at the job you're interviewing for. Be specific, pick out tasks listed in the job spec and talk about how you would do them and why that's the best way.
Standout:
What makes you different? What makes you the best candidate for this position, make sure you get across your USP.
Be prepared:
If you've been asked to present something, make sure you're fully prepared. It needs to look and sound perfect, pay attention to detail and practice your presentation before the real deal.
Be yourself:
Ultimately, the interviewer needs to know they can work with you day in and day out, a lot of importance is placed on agency culture so they need to know that you will fit into the team.
Ask questions:
Always have questions prepared, although it's likely that more will come to you during the interview.
Leave on a high:
Make sure the interviewer knows that you are still keen for the position. Sum up why you want to work for the company and why you would be perfect for the role.
